Some big casting news now with a new action thriller on the cards for filmmaker Stefano Sollima. The Italian helmer will take the reigns on Sugar Bandits with Will Smith leading the cast. Deadline reported the news.
Stefano is behind Prime Video’s Without Remorse starring Michael B Jordan, and sequel Sicario: Day Of The Soldado. He also has projects Adagio at Netflix and the crime series Gomorrah among his credits.
According to the trade, the new film will be based on the screenplay and novel Devils In Exile by Chuck Hogan with Smith also co-producing. Production is said to kick off later this year.
Deadline says that the film is about a former special forces soldier who runs an elite vigilante squad working to wipe out the drug trade in Boston. We presume Smith is said former soldier in the flick.

Smith will next be seen in the fourth ‘Bad Boys’ movie, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, which is released on the 9th of June.
