The news has been confirmed. A sequel to the Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore is in the works at Netflix. The film will once again star Sandler in a follow-up at the streamer some 28 years after the release of the first movie.
Happy Gilmore starred Sander as a hockey player who finds that he has a talent for golf. He uses his new-found skills to enter a tournament to help save his grandmother’s house.
The first film also starred Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen and the late Carl Weathers.
The news was announced just yesterday in New York during Netflix’s upfront presentation.
More as it comes in.
