Some big news for monster movie fans, specifically Godzilla, as arguably one of the best movies in the series is now available to stream on Netflix. Godzilla Minus One bagged itself a huge release late last year and even scored an Oscar for Best Visual Effects back in February. The Godzilla Minus One streaming release was confirmed on the official Godzilla website.
The movie is now available on the Netflix platform, including North America and the UK subtitled and dubbed in Japanese, English. The black and white version of the movie, Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color, will be available to stream on Netflix later this summer.
The official Godzilla website says that subtitled versions of Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color can also be purchased or rented digitally in subtitled versions in the US, at least, on Amazon, Apple iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft, and Fandango NOW/VUDU, inDemand, XBOX, and Vubiquity. The versions are also available on other platforms.
No word on where or when the Godzilla Minus One streaming release will come for purchase in the UK.
In the film, Japan, devastated after the war, faces a new threat in the form of Godzilla. How will the country confront this impossible situation?
We said that Godzilla Minus One is one of the best Godzilla movies of all time and our critic (and resident Godzilla fanatic) Luke Ryan Baldock also praised the film’s action set pieces, threat and visual effects.
Spread out across 4 major set pieces, each appearance of the kaiju utilises him in different ways. From an opening attack where he is much smaller and agile, humorously more reminiscent of the maligned 1998 American interpretation, to a Jaws-inspired boat chase, followed by some classic Tokyo destruction, and then the final confrontation. Each moment is magnificent and deserves to be seen on the biggest screen.

Godzilla Minus One was a huge hit with both critics and fans alike. The movie surpassed £1 million at the UK and Ireland box-office back in December of last year. At the time of writing it had made around $116 million around the world – from a reported $10-12 million budget.
Hit the aforementioned outlets to get the Godzilla Minus One streaming release thundering into your homes.
