Sundance slasher film ‘In A Violent Nature’ sets release date

In A Violent Nature, a film that premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, has set a UK and Ireland release date through Altitude.

The film comes to the screen from writer and director Chris Nash and introduces the masked and murderous Johnny, who’ll stop at nothing to retrieve a precious locket. It has a release date set for the 12th of July.

The official synopsis is as follows:

When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year old crime, his body is resurrected and becomes hellbent on retrieving it. The undead golem hones in on the group of vacationing teens responsible for the theft and proceeds to methodically slaughter them one by one in his mission to get it back – along with anyone in his way.

We reviewing the film at Sundance and had the following to say in our largely positive review by Kat.

In a Violent Nature injects an arthouse sensibility into, of all things, the slasher film. The results are varied but one epic kill in particular should win over the more traditional horror crowd.

We have the latest trailer for your viewing please and the new quad poster (above). Check out this film on screens this July.
