Jeff Daniel Phillips and more interviewed for ‘Cursed in Baja’ at FrightFest

Jeff Daniel Phillips is better known as an actor, primarily one who frequently collaborates with musician-turned-director, Rob Zombie. Outside of acting however, Jeff Daniel Phillips is an avid writer and director himself; his latest project, Cursed in Baja, has recently debuted at the 25th anniversary of Pigeon Shrine FrightFest. The film was a long time coming together and a real labour of love, not only for Jeff Daniel Phillips, but for everyone involved.

In Cursed in Baja, Jeff Daniel Phillips stars as Pirelli, a burnt-out ex-detective. Pirelli is lured by a wealthy Los Angeles family who is responsible for his desperate plight to locate the missing heir to their fortune. But the young rapper is in Baja, Mexico, and a member of a Russian beast cult that worships the notorious Chupacabra. Pirelli must confront his complicated past in the deadly search for what he finds in Baja, which challenges him to the core.

A fun creature feature / fever dream, Cursed in Baja has been scooped up by Anchor Bay for distribution. Whilst we don’t have any release date news yet, it surely won’t be long until Cursed in Baja is available to a wider audience. To celebrate the world premiere of Cursed in Baja at FrightFest, Jeff Daniel Phillips attended the festival, accompanied by several members of cast and crew. The media wall for Cursed in Baja was a busy one. THN spoke with Jeff Daniel Phillips, his wife Bridget Phillips, and daughter Eva Phillips, who both had roles in the production. We also spoke with producer / actor, Kent Isaacs, and actors Emily Browning, Robbyn Leigh, and Mark Fite. Everyone was in high spirits and could not have spoken more kindly about Jeff Daniel Phillips’ role as director. Watch the videos for more information now.

Cursed in Baja was reviewed at Pigeon Shrine FrightFest. Cursed in Baja will next screen on 9th September at American Cinematheque
