One of the many films that impressed us at this year’s Pigeon Shrine FrightFest was the aptly named Fright. Directed by Warren Dudley the film harkened back to the era of Hitchcock and was a firm favourite at the festival. Now, word has reached us that Fright is on the precipice of world domination, read on for more details.
Fright, the much-lauded horror film that ‘Horrorverse’ called “the best film at Frightfest 2024,” has secured a distribution deal with US distributor Indie Rights. Directed by Warren Dudley, Fright is a black-and-white tribute to classic 1950s horror, bringing a haunting tale of psychological terror to the screen. The film will soon be available on multiple streaming platforms.
Set in 1937, Frightfollows the story of Emily, a young woman plagued by agoraphobia and trapped in her isolated home with her mysterious mother. The film weaves classic horror elements with an intense psychological narrative, immersing viewers in its rich, atmospheric world.
Described by one festival critic as “dripping with an atmosphere of dread and uncertainty”, Fright has been praised for its masterful suspense and visual homage to horror’s golden age. We at the The Hollywood News noted, “The use of monochrome encourages the audience to think of Fright as a film lost to the era rather than homaging it.”
Warren Dudley, the film’s director, shared the news about the distribution deal: “We are really happy to once again be working with Linda and the guys at Indie Rights. We look forward to everyone being able to see our movie – it was made with a lot of love.”
Indie Rights CEO Linda Nelson said of their latest acquisition: “Indie Rights is excited to be distributing Warren’s newest film, Fright. After our successful release of his last film, Six Years Gone, we are looking forward to sharing an equally well received film.”
Fright captivated audiences at its Leicester Square World Premiere, and with its upcoming release, horror fans around the world will soon be able to experience its chilling tension and loving craftsmanship.
