Michael Jackson biopic ‘Michael’ pushed back to October 2025

The movie was slated for an April 2025 bow.

It has been confirmed that Michael Jackson biopic Michael has been pushed back from April 2025 to an October release date, seemingly indicating that the studio has major ambitions for awards success.

Antoine Fuqua is directing the film for Lionsgate/ Universal with the movie now planned to bow on screens on 3rd October 2025.

Jafaar Jackson leads the cast as MJ, alongside Nia Long, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, Colman Domingo, Kat Graham, Larenz Tate, Kendrick Sampson, and Derek Luke.

According to the official blurb, the film ‘will bring audiences a riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man who became known worldwide as the King of Pop. The film presents his triumphs and tragedies on an epic, cinematic scale — from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable creative genius, captured by his most iconic performances.
