‘Nosferatu’ first reactions light up the web

The Nosferatu first reactions are in and it looks like the new work from Robert Eggers is extremely positive with Oscar talk aplenty already.

Nosferatu first reactions

The film is set to land on cinema screens stateside on Christmas Day – accompanying your festive platter quite nicely – and in the UK on 1st January. Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe lead the cast of the movie which is written and directed by Eggers (The Lighthouse).

Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake. It is based on Nosferatu – Eine Symphonie des Grauens by Henrik Galeen, but was adapted for the screen by Eggers. Jarin Blaschke, who scored an Oscar nomination for his work on The Lighthouse, is cinematographer on this one, too.

The Nosferatu first reactions are coming from the U.S. where it seems a group of critics were given the opportunity to see the horror movie relatively earlier – seemingly a little while ago.

The film has been in the can for a little while with production taking place at the famous Barrandov Studios in Prague between February and May 2023. Then a probable lengthy post production period followed.

Things are looking very good for this one, and with a body of work such as Eggers’, he’s due a few awards nods to go his way. His debut The Witch was nothing short of outstanding with The Lighthouse equally as good.

Here are a select few of the Nosferatu first reactions we found online. Check back as we head towards the film’s released date for our view.

That final contributor also heeded the warning: “If you’re not afraid of rats before seeing this movie, you will be now.” I guess we’ve been warned.
