A release date has been secured for the Jonathan Majors’-led Magazine Dreams. Briarcliff Entertainment will debut the films stateside in March, according to reports online.
Elijah Bynum directs and wrote the screenplay with Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Mike O’Hearn also among the cast.
Magazine Dreams premiered at the Sundance Film Festival a couple of years ago before being picked up by Searchlight Pictures. Disney-owned Searchlight eventually dropped the film due to Majors’ legal issues that followed the Sundance premiere.
“Dozens of incredibly talented people poured their time, energy, and creativity into bringing this film to life, and I am immensely proud of their work,” filmmaker Bynum told Deadline. “I’m grateful to Tom Ortenberg and Briarcliff Entertainment for their unwavering support, passion, and for giving this film the opportunity to reach a wider audience.”
We saw the film at Sundance in 2023 and were very positive of the work, saying: “There are echoes of Scorsese – think Taxi Driver or The King Of Comedy, as well as hints of Tarantino and even Refn. This is one of the stronger movies to come out of Sundance this year (pun intended), and a big contender for one of the top prizes, too.”

No news on a UK debut as yet but it looks like U.S. audience will get a chance to view the film in cinemas from 21st March.
