It looks like ‘The Batman II’ is filming this year

Ahead of an October 2027 release.

Some news now on The Batman II filming. Director Matt Reeves has seemingly revealed that the shoot is closer than we first thought.

The Batman II filming

On the red carpet for last night’s Golden Globes, Reeves gave a very big update on the new Batman movie with Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight. It looks like this one is going before the cameras this year despite its release date being pushed from October 2nd 2026 to October 1st 2027, a full two and three quarter years away from when we type this.

“I can tell you that we’re…shooting this year and that we’re excited about it. I can’t really tell you anything about it except that we’re really excited about it,” Reeves said to reporters (as per Deadline).

“We’re doing something where the story continues from, but I hope that people will be surprised by,” Reeves added.

The news comes following the success of Max’s The Penguin series which saw Colin Farrell pick up a gong for last night at the Globes.

The Batman II filming news is pretty vague but we’ll give you an update if there’s a specific month or time of year being mentioned for principal photography.
