Variety reports the news of Hammer’s casting, his latest role following the announcement that he will also appear in Travis Mills’ western Frontier Crucible with Thomas Jane and William H. Macy.

The Dark Knight is described by the trade as revolving around Hammer’s Sanders ‘who takes justice into his own hands as he sets out to hunt down criminals. While his crusade transforms him into a social media sensation and a hero in the eyes of the public, the local police chief sees him as a menace to society and aims to take him down.’

The last movie to be released featuring Hammer was the 2022 Agatha Christie adaptation Death on the Nile. Previously, he was seen in the likes of The Social Network, Rebecca (above), The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and the acclaimed Call Me By Your Name.

His career came to a halt in 2021 following allegations of sexual misconduct which ultimately led to no charges being brought against the actor.

Hammer has also recently started his own podcast, The Armie Hammertime Podcast.
