Acclaimed festival face The Girl With The Needle has scored a streaming release date on the day the film is released theatrically in the UK.
The Cannes-debuting film will screen on MUBI later this month on 24th January, according to an official press release.
The synopsis is as follows:
The Girl With The Needle tracks young factory worker Karoline as she struggles to survive in post-WWI Copenhagen. When she ends up unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, the charismatic Dagmar takes her in to help run an underground adoption agency for unwanted children. The two form an unexpected bond, until a sudden discovery changes everything.
The film is written and directed by Magnus von Horn and features Vic Carmen Sonne and Trine Dyrholm among the cast.
The Girl WIth The Needle is shortlisted for Best International Feature Film at this year’s Academy Awards. It premiered at Cannes back in May competition for the Palme d’Or. It garnered positive reviews from the festival before going on to play at TIFF later in the year.
