‘Picnic At Hanging Rock’ 4K anniversary release gets a trailer

Check out this trailer for the upcoming re-release of the superb, ground-breaking Peter Weir film Picnic At Hanging Rock. The movie has just received a 4K restoration and will land back in cinemas in February.

On Valentine’s Day 1900, students from Appleyard College, a girls’ private school in Victoria, Australia, embark on a picnic to an unusual but scenic volcanic formation called Hanging Rock. Despite the rules against it, several of the girls wander off. It’s not until the end of the day that the group realise that some of their party have mysteriously disappeared.

The film will get a run at the BFI Southbank in London, and across the UK from 21st February.

Janus Films will re-release Picnic at Hanging Rock stateside from 31st January which is where this trailer originates from.
