Warner Bros. Pictures has dropped the Mickey 17 trailer ahead of the film’s international premiere at the forthcoming Berlin Film Festival where it was revealed it will play in the Berlinale Special strand.
Bong Joon Ho (Parasite) directs with Robert Pattinson leading the cast. Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo also star in the film.
The story revolves around Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson) who has found himself in the extraordinary circumstance of working for an employer who demands the ultimate commitment to the job… to die, for a living.
Written and directed by Bong Joon Ho, the film will land in cinemas this March. Now, the Berlin premiere is not the world premiere so we are expecting this to play somewhere else before the February event, most probably South Korea?

The film itself is based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton which was released back in 2022. A brief excerpt from the novel synopsis reads:
Mickey7 is an Expendable: a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous—even suicidal— the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact. Mickey signed on to escape from both bad debts and boredom on Midgard.
The March 7th release for the feature comes after a slight delay with the film first thought to be entering cinemas last year, and then in January, but with that big festival premiere might have something to do with the slight shift (we’re just speculating there) and this year’s Berlinale looks like a golden year with its line-up, revealed to the media in the German capital earlier this week. Mickey 17 will play alongside new works from Hong sang-soo, Richard Linklater, Michel Franco and more at the annual event which kicks off in Berlin on 13th February.
