Jake Gyllenhaal set to star in M. Night Shyamalan’s next film

Some big news for this Wednesday in that it looks like Jake Gyllenhaal is set to headline M. Night Shyamalan’s next movie. The film is an untitled supernatural romantic thriller and is based on an original story co-created by Shyamalan and novelist Nicholas Sparks, who wrote The Notebook.

This news comes via Deadline who don’t have any story details, but this is big news for fans of the trio of talents. Gyllenhaal is coming off of two massive streaming projects in the remake of Road House, which was released back last year, and the Apple TV+ series Presumed Innocent, again a rework of previous material.

Shyamalan is also enjoying a high following the release of Trap last year which grossed over $80 million from a budget reportedly around the $30 million mark.
