The legendary American comedian Andy Kaufman is getting a new documentary, one hitting select cinemas and digital in the U.S. very soon. Thank You Very Much is directed by Alex Braverman and is set for a release on 28th March.
Andy Kaufman’s provocative comedy often outraged audiences, challenging them to confront their own presumptions. Through never-before-seen footage and intimate recollections, filmmaker Alex Braverman explores Kaufman’s brief but impactful life and career. As the lines between performance and reality blur in our present age, Kaufman’s genius resonates more than ever.
Kaufman was memorably played by Jim Carrey in Man on the Moon and most recently by Nicholas Braun in Saturday Night.
No word on a UK release but the film will be distributed stateside by Drafthouse Films. It had screenings at the most recent Venice Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, and CPH:DOX, DOC NYC.
Here’s the new trailer.
