As part of their CinemaCon presentation, Lionsgate has revealed that Billy Ray will write the new ‘Hunger Games movie. The studio also revealed the title treatment for the next movie in ‘The Hunger Games’ series, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
The feature, which will be released in November 2026, will revisit the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
Francis Lawrence returns to direct the film which has that screenplay by Oscar-nominated Ray, based on the novel by Suzanne Collins.
