Exclusive clip from new feature ‘Four Mothers’

To celebrate its release in UK and Irish cinemas this week, the BFI has given us an exclusive clip from Four Mothers, a heartwarming comedy looking at mother and son dynamics, singledom and the role of carers in the home and the community. It premiered at BFI Flare in March.

Four Mothers is directed by Darren Thornton and stars James McArdle (Playing Nice).

Edward (James McArdle), a talented novelist on the cusp of literary success, is juggling the responsibility of caring for his elderly mother, Alma (Fionnula Flanagan). As the excitement of a US book tour builds, he is suddenly faced with an unexpected twist—his three friends decide to take an impromptu Pride getaway to Spain, leaving their mothers on his doorstep. Over a lively and chaotic weekend, Edward has to balance the demands of  his rising career with caring for four eccentric, combative, and wildly different ladies.

Watch our exclusive clip from the film below and check out Four Mothers in cinemas in the UK and Ireland from 4th April.
