It was rumoured a couple of weeks ago but now it has been confirmed that Guy Ritchie will direct the Road House 2 movie being set up at Amazon MGM Studios.
Jake Gyllenhaal is returning to the hit franchise as former UFC fighter turned bouncer Dalton, the role made famous by the legendary Patrick Swayze in the 1980s original.
Will Beall (Bad Boys: Ride Or Die) is writing the screenplay for the new movie in the series but so far the plot is being kept under wraps. The hit redo revolved around Dalton as he headed for a Florida Keys bar to help clean it up, only to discover more trouble down in the tropical paradise.
Gyllenhaal has worked with Richie before, on the action drama Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant.
Ritchie’s next film project is also streaming-bound. Adventure film Fountain of Youth will hit Apple TV+ in May.
