A new Spike Lee joint is on the way this summer and here is your very first look at it. The Highest 2 Lowest trailer is online and can be watched below.
Highest 2 Lowest is reportedly a remake of Akira Kurosawa classic High And Low which is from Apple Studios and A24 with the latter releasing the film in cinemas this summer followed by a release on Apple TV+ after.
This is the fifth time Spike and Denzel have worked together, following on from the likes of Mo’ Better Blues and Inside Man.
Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and A$AP Rocky are also among the cast of the film.
Kurosawa’s original 1963 movie was based on drama and police procedural called King’s Ransom by Ed McBain with Kurosawa’s story revolving around Japanese businessman Kingo Gondo (Mifune) struggling for control of the major shoe company at which he is a board member.
Highest 2 Lowest will get a theatrical release in August.
