Rob Letterman To Give Us ‘Goosebumps’

GoosebumpsEvery so often I enjoy nothing more than sitting down for a few hours and reading a GOOSEBUMPS book. They’re predictable, formulaic, and have an unhealthy obsession with ending every single chapter on a cliffhanger. They’re also a lot of fun, as author R.L. Stine attempts to transpose horror iconography into child friendly situations. A feature length film has been in development for quite some time and it now looks as though a director has been chosen. Rob Letterman, mostly known for animated films MONSTER’S VS. ALIENS and SHARK TALE is in discussions to helm the project, which is a bit concerning considering his live-action debut was GULLIVER’S TRAVELS, one of the worst films ever made.

We’re still unsure if the film will adapt just one of Stine’s tales of terror, or if we’ll be seeing an anthology picture. Personally, I hope we get an anthology picture with at least one original segment.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
