The next big Young Adult film franchise megahit looks set to be DIVERGENT, a film where teenagers must choose which faction they will belong to, with the choices being Honesty, Selflessness, Bravery, Peacefulness, and Intelligence. Shailene Woodley is taking on the lead role, with supporting turns from Maggi Q, Zoe Kravitz, and Ansel Elgort. Today we celebrate the casting of the villain, Jeanine Matthews, who will be played by Kate Winslet. Winslet has been rumoured as having a role for a little while now, but Summit Entertainment have made an official announcement. Principal photography will be underway come April.
Director of LIMITLESS, Neil Burger, is to direct from a screenplay by Evan Daugherty and Vanessa Taylor, based on a book by Veronica Roth.
DIVERGENT is set for release on 21st March 2014. It shall star Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Maggie Q, Ansel Elgort, Theo James, Jai Courtney, and Zoe Kravitz.
