After returning from a rather fluorescent screening of SPRING BREAKERS, what do I see but a selection of sexy new images from Sofia Coppola’s new project THE BLING RING!
With HARRY POTTER alum Emma Watson starring as Nicki – a ‘wannabe socialite’ who turns to burglary to get her own way – this is bound to be good. Focusing on a group of teenagers who decide that the way to get ahead is to steal from their rich idols, THE BLING RING is based around actual events. With themes of fame, obsession, money and crime (and by the looks of these images, substance abuse, addiction and the law), only Coppola (MARIE ANTOINETTE, LOST IN TRANSLATION) could pull of something so raunchy but so legitimate.
Co-starring Leslie Mann, Israel Broussard, Gavin Rossdale, Taissa Farmiga, Erin Daniels and Kirsten Dunst, THE BLING RING is set to hit US cinemas from 14th June. A UK date has not yet been set. You can watch the trailer here.
