I for one am extremely excited for the release of Sofia Coppola’s next outing THE BLING RING, and the buzz around the film seems to be building as we’re slowly shown new glimpses into the project. Today we can bring you the new poster…featuring five pairs of sunglasses.
Emma Watson stars as Nicki, a wannabe socialite who sees burglary as her way of moving up the social ladder and becoming best buddies with her wealthy idols. Only problem is that Nicki and her pals are stealing from the very people they want to become/befriend. Co-starring Leslie Mann, Taissa Farmiga, Erin Daniels, Israel Broussard, Gavin Rossdale and Kirsten Dunst, THE BLING RING’s narrative is inspired by actual events.
The poster reminds me of a certain THE BREAKFAST CLUB flair, with each character given a role/nickname. However, with dark themes of crime and punishment, addiction, sex and money, I’m pretty certain THE BLING RING will be a whole lot edgier than a film based around weekend detention.
THE BLING RING is set to hit US cinemas from 14th June.
