First ‘Oldboy’ Poster For Spike Lee’s Remake

Spike Lee’s remake of the iconic Korean film directed by Park Chan Wook has its first poster to reveal. It’s a simple but effective image of a tally showing the number of years that the protagonist has been locked up. What’s most interesting is that the number of years has increased from 15 to 20 years. OLDBOY will see Joe Doucett (Josh Brolin) imprisoned for no apparent reason. Upon his release, 20 years later, he must attempt to find out why he was held captive. Without footage it’s hard to get a good impression of the film just yet. The original film is an absolute classic, but it been noted that Lee will be taking more cues from the Manga on which the original was based, which could lead to a different ending.

OLDBOY is released 11th October 2013. It stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, and Samuel L. Jackson.
