UK Trailer For Donnie Yen’s ‘Dragon’

Fans of kung-fu epics may want to check out the brand new UK trailer for the latest gravity-defying actioner from the Far East, DRAGON. The film, directed by Peter Chan, is headlined by international ass-kicking superstar Donnie Yen, who plays a former renegade martial-arts expert wanting to start a peaceful new life, but is soon hunted by a determined detective, as well as his former master. The official plot synopsis goes as follows:

Liu Jin-xi (Yen) is a village craftsman whose quiet life is irrevocably shattered by the arrival of two notorious gangsters in the local general store. When Liu single-handedly saves the shopkeeper’s life, he comes under investigation by detective Xu Bai-jiu (Takeshi Kaneshiro). Convinced that Liu’s martial arts mastery belies a hidden history of training by one of the region’s vicious clans, Xu doggedly pursues the shy hero—and draws the attention of China’s criminal underworld in the process.

DRAGON will be released in UK cinemas from 3rd May 2013.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
