First-time directing team Nat Faxon and Jim Rash know their way around alternative comedy on the TV but now their first feature THE WAY WAY BACK is already drawing positive feedback from early screenings and today we’ve got the first poster for the all-star cast comedy-drama. They’ve got quite the collection of screen-stars in the shape of Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Liam James, Toni Collette, Amanda Peet, and Maya Rudolph. The film is set over the course of his summer break, and a teenager comes into his own thanks in part to the friendship he strikes up with one of the park’s managers.
The trailer gives us that coming-of-age charm for the youngsters but when it is the producers of LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and JUNO, we’ve got a lot of hope that this one is a good ‘un! Here’s the poster and trailer for this upcoming release:
THE WAY WAY BACK opens in the US on July 5th and did also screen at Sundance back in January, we’re still waiting on those UK and further worldwide release dates.
