THE SOUND OF MY VOICE director Zal Batmanglij’s latest thriller, THE EAST, once again sees the acclaimed filmmaker collaborate with his previous lead actress Brit Marling (who also wrote and produced both efforts) as an skilled operative for an elite private intelligence firm, who is tasked with infiltrating an anarchist group known for executing covert attacks upon major corporations but finds herself dangerously in over her head.
THE EAST also features an impressive supporting cast including Ellen Page, Alexander Skarsgard, Toby Kebbell, Julia Ormond, Patricia Clarkson, Shiloh Fernandez , Jason Ritter and garnered rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival in January. It’s released in the US from 31st May, while a UK date as yet to be announced.
