Just before the film debuts at the Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off in the South Of France this week (so expect tons of news coming at you via the Croisette), the trailer for James Franco’s AS I LAY DYING has just landed online, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies.
The film is based on William Faulkner’s 1930 book of the same name, and it is considered to be one of he best novels of 20th century.
According to Wikipedia, the book tells the story of the death of Addie Bundren and her family’s quest and motivations – noble or selfish – to honor her wish to be buried in the town of Jefferson. There’s a heck of a lot going on in this trailer, if you can make head or tail of it. Franco stars as well as writes and directs. Clever bugger.
Danny McBride, Tim Blake Nelson, Beth Grant, Logan Marshall-Green and Ahna O’Reilly also star.
Check out the trailer below.
