‘The Wolverine’ On The Warpath In New Behind-The-Scenes Stills

A couple of days ago we brought you the first image of Hugh Jackman on the set of Bryan Singer’s 1970s-set mutant adventure X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. However, before we see him mixing it up as part of the plot that merges the past and present cast of characters from the Marvel universe, he’ll first be unleashed upon Tokyo, Japan, in the James Mangold-directed THE WOLVERINE.

The spin-off sequel is based on Chris Claremont’s acclaimed comic-book arc that see the adamantium-clawed hulking hero Logan, offered the chance to rid himself of his super-powered curse from a man he once saved. We’re hoping it wipes any memory of Gavin Hood’s woeful X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. It certainly can’t be any worse… can it?

Check out these behind-the-scenes images of the THE WOLVERINE, which is released in cinemas 25th July  It co-stars Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Brian Tee, Svetlana Khodchenkova.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
