Exclusive Media welcomed the legendary footballer Pelé and action superstar Jackie Chan at the Cannes Film Festival as both icons arrived on the Croisette to promote the company’s two newly announced feature films PELÉ and SKIPTRACE.
PELÉ is produced by Imagine Entertainment and Seine Pictures and is written by Michael Zimbalist and Jeff Zimbalist. The film is produced by Brian Grazer, Ivan Orlic, Kim Roth and Dany Wolf and executive produced by Pelé, Paul Kemsley, and Exclusive Media’s Guy East.
The film is scheduled to shoot in August 2013 and tells the inspirational story of Pelé’s rise to glory, from his impoverished youth in Brazil to a soccer prodigy who put the hopes and dreams of his country on his shoulders, to lead Brazil to its first ever world cup victory in 1958 and become the greatest player that ever lived.
Directed by Sam Fell, starring Jackie Chan and Fan BingBing, SKIPTRACE is a Sino-Foreign co-production by Exclusive Media and China’s Talent International. In addition to starring, Jackie Chan is a producer on SKIPTRACE. David Gerson is also attached to produce and Cyrte Investments’ Charlie Coker is executive producing.
Based on Chan’s original idea, SKIPTRACE is written by Jay Longino and co-written by THE SITTER scribes Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. The action comedy follows a Hong Kong detective (Chan) who is tasked with tracking down a mouthy American gambler on the run from his creditors. The men form an unlikely partnership and attempt to take down Hong Kong’s most notorious criminal, while embarking on a wild journey through some of China’s most scenic and exotic locales.
