Fox looking for Theron in Alien Prequel

Word from Vulture on the Ridley Scott ALIEN Prequel is that Fox are making a large effort to bring Charlize Theron on board as the lead.

Ridley Scott as had his eye on Noomi Rapace best know as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO series and the upcoming sequel of SHERLOCK HOLMES as the lead.  Fox’s problem is betting Scott’s big budget film and their franchise on a relative unknown, well at least in America.  This is what Vulture have saying;

Fox is having the role rewritten so that it’s larger and befitting, if not of Theron, than at least of someone of Theron’s stature. We’re also told that the South African beauty should get the new version of the Alien script sometime this week and make her decision soon.

Recently we posted some news on the ALIEN prequel from Vulture that turned out to be possibly inaccurate including the film title and some stars attached including, Michael Fassbender and Michelle Yeoh as they have not been confirmed but are just on Scott’s wish list. It looks as though to keep the peace with Scott, Fox wish to compromise by getting Fassbender and Yeoh but replacing Rapace with Theron.

Take this rumours with a pinch of salt.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
