Coming from Focus Features and Working Title is the terrifically cast conspiracy thriller, CLOSED CIRCUIT, which is led by the underrated Eric Bana and Brit stunner Rebecca Hall, currently seen in IRON MAN 3. I’ve been a huge fan of Bana’s since comic-crime caper CHOPPER. I even have a soft spot for his portrayal as Bruce Banner in Ang Lee’s much-maligned HULK. This London-set effort looks tense affair with a superb supporting cast including Riz Ahmed, Jim Broadbent, Kenneth Cranham, Anne-Marie Duff, Ciarán Hinds and Julia Stiles. The first trailer and poster have just arrived and appear below the official synopsis.
Two ex-lovers, Martin (Eric Bana) and Claudia (Rebecca Hall), find their loyalties tested and their lives at risk when they are joined together on the defense team in a terrorism trial.” That may be the simple plot description, but judging by the trailer, the film looks far more complicated. The title comes from the closed-circuit cameras that litter London, and the plot also involves the legal drama as well as the machinations of MI-6 and terrorist cells.
John Crowley directs the film hitting US cinemas from 28th August and the UK 1st November.
