It’s currently being reported Oscar-winning SKYFALL director Sam Mendes is now said to have sealed a deal to helm the next untitled James Bond adventure. However, after previously ruling himself due to commitments on his theatre production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, not only is he set to direct the 24th film in the iconic spy franchise but he’s also in negotiations for number 25!
The superb SKYFALL became the first 007 action-thriller to cross $1 billion worldwide with the film being regarded as the best Bond ever. Coincidentally, Daniel Craig recently signed on for a further two films as the suave superspy, meaning Mendes could close out the remainder of Craig’s contract. We await official confirmation but strong indictions suggest this is now a done deal for at least Bond 24.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
