First Still Of Dominic West & Helena Bonham Carter In BBC’s ‘Burton And Taylor’

Burton and Taylor

Hot off the press from the BBC, we’ve received the first shot of Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West as Hollywood’s most notorious couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. It’s all for the upcoming ‘Burton & Taylor’ due to screen initially on BBC Four, the 90-minute drama follows their private and public relationship played out against their ill-fated appearance in a 1983 revival of Noel Coward’s stage play, Private Lives.

This one-off drama is directed by Richard Laxton and written by William Ivory (MADE IN DAGENHAM) and is a BBC Drama Production for BBC Four and co-produced by BBC America. The best news of all? There’s not a single sign of Lindsay Lohan or Grant Bowler in the abysmal Liz & Dick and we’re more than hopeful that HBC and West will put that even further into the darkness.

Taylor once said that: “It was probably the most chaotic time of [her] life,” but she also added that “It was fun and it was dark. Oceans of tears, but some good times too.” and we surely hope this BBC Production is and brings this fascinating story to life. There’s two great actors in the lead, so we’re very intrigued of what’s to come!
