Coming-Of-Age Drama ‘The Way Way Back’ Gets UK Quad

First-time directing team Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (well known for their their own comedy roles in TV and film) make their debut with coming-of-age comedy drama, THE WAY WAY BACK, said to be very much in the mould of 2009s ADVENTURELAND. The film had had many positive reviews and the brilliant cast consisting of Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Liam James, Toni Collette, AnnaSophia Robb, Amanda Peet, and Maya Rudolph, suggests this will be one to keep an eye out for.

The film is set over the course of his summer break, as teenager Duncan (James) comes into his own thanks in part, to the close friendship he strikes up with one of the park’s likeable managers (Rockwell). It’s released in US cinemas from the 5th July and the UK from the 28th August. If you missed the trailer, you can catch it with the following link!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
