The numbers for this past weekend’s UK box-office have just been released, and it has been a huge weekend for Universal Pictures. Their 2013 animated release of DESPICABLE ME 2 has just become the biggest opening film at UK cinemas this year with a huge £14.8 million in receipts including last weekend’s preview screenings. This easily positions the film at the number one spot, pushing the mighty MAN OF STEEL to number two. Zack Snyder’s Superman epic banked £2.4 million since Friday in the UK, bring its total gross to £26.2 million after three weekends out there.
