Mystery Image Hints At New ‘Predator’ Project Being Announced At Comic Con!

I was gutted when it was announced VACANCY’s Nimrod Antal was producer/writer Robert Rodriguez’ choice to helm 2010s sci-fi sequel, PREDATORS. Alongside Antal, DOG SOLDIERS and THE DESCENT’s Neil Marshall was in the running and because of my love of those aforementioned features (well, also because he’s a fellow Geordie lad), I was rooting for Marshall to land his first Hollywood blockbuster. Sadly, it wasn’t to be and PREDATORS ended up as something more run-of-the-mill.

Now, a new clue on the PREDATORS official Facebook page has hinted that “something is coming… #HuntThePredator” with the following image attached.

For those still mystified, the image sees the signature heat-vision of the otherworldly vagina-faced villains looking over the map of Petco Park. It’s a location nearby the iconic San Diego Convention Centre. Fans have been promised a ‘surprise’ by 20th Century Fox’s Comic Con panel, which will include THE WOLVERINE and DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. We suspect that could well be the confirmation of a new PREDATOR film… Give Marshall a chance this time Robert!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
