Well stick a crucifix in me and tell me what my mother does in hell, it looks as though recent horror TV show success stories such as the excellent HANNIBAL and BATES MOTEL are inspiring all sorts of possible future series. Most exciting of all is a possibility that THE EXORCIST may be headed to the small screen. Based the outstanding novel by William Peter Blatty, which was turned into the classic film directed by William Friedkin, THE EXORCIST has all the potential to be a great TV show, as it can explore the characters over time and have a very slow build up.
Not many details on this just yet but writer of the upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR reboot, Jeremy Slater, is attached with Roy Lee, an executive producer on BATES MOTEL, in a similar role. Hopefully it will keep this to a one season drama, but then again THE EXORCIST III was a grand, if pretty unrelated, film.
