The newly crowned Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence returns as the bow-carrying heroine Katniss Everdeen in the forthcoming follow-up to the box-office hit, THE HUNGER GAMES. Again, CATCHING FIRE is based on the novel by Suzanne Collins and is this time directed by I AM LEGEND’s Francis Lawrence, who takes over the first film’s helmer, Gary Ross.
Following swiftly after news of the films world premiere being held in London on the 11th November, we’ve two new viral posters showcasing the excess of the Panem Capitol in scent and eyewear.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is released in cinemas from the 22nd November and co-stars the returning Josh Hutcherson, Donald Sutherland, Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Toby Jones, Woody Harrelson. Newcomers include Jena Malone, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amanda Plummer, Lynn Cohen, Patrick St. Esprit, Meta Golding, Bruno Gunn, Sam Claflin and Jeffrey Wright.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
