We’ve more news on yet another adaptation of a Young Adult novel with confirmation that Lotus Entertainment and Mayhem Pictures have confirmed the leads for their forthcoming FALLEN franchise, based on the novel series by Lauren Kate. Addison Timlin, soon to be seen in Stephen Sommers’ long-deyayed ODD THOMAS and arguably the best thing about this years gangster comedy STAND UP GUYS, will co-star alongside and British actor Jeremy Irvine (WAR HORSE).
The film will be directed Scott Hicks, best known for Oscar-winner Australian drama SHINE and the underrated Stephen King adaptation HEARTS IN ATLANTIS, from a script by Kathryn Price, Nicole Millard and Michael Ross. FALLEN is the first of four books (the others Torment, Passion and Rapture) and his described as a Gothic romantic thriller following a shy teen who is suspected of killing a boy and is sent to Sword and Cross reform school. However, it’s a creepy location is filled with frequent supernatural occurrences and it becomes clear that the majority of students are fallen angels on the side of good or evil.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
