First Teaser For YA Action Adaption ‘Divergent’

The boss and I were able to see first footage from LIMITLESS director Neil Burger’s adaptation of the Veronica Roth novel DIVERGENT over at Comic Con in July. Yet as much as I like a lot of Burger’s back catalogue (particular his debut INTERVIEW WITH THE ASSASSIN), we see failed to see what all the fuss was about. To be honest, I was more taken (or rather smitten) with the short haired stunning author than with any exciting footage shown on screen.

We’re promised the full trailer this coming Sunday for the futuristic thriller which takes place in a society where people are divided into groups based on their personalities, but in the meantime try and enjoy this pointless 13 second teaser.

DIVERGENT is a thrilling adventure set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities, Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it’s too late

DIVERGENT stars Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Theo James, Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Ashley Judd, Tony Goldwyn, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Ansel Elgort, Christian Madsen, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Ben Lamb, and Amy Newbold. It opens in cinemas 21st March 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
