I AM NUMBER FOUR and MAGIC MIKE star Alex Pettyfer is the latest actor linked to J.J. Abrams highly anticipated STAR WARS VII. Although still at the rumour stage at the moment the star is thought to have been asked to read after Ryan Gosling declined.
STAR WARS VII is to be set around thirty years after the end Lucas’s original trilogy. With Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford all expressing an interest in returning it is likely that the new series will focus on the adventures of their offspring. With this in mind might Pettyfer be in line to become the next Skywalker?
Alongside Alex Pettyfer, Rachel Hurd-Wood, star of TOMORROW, WHEN THE WAR BEGAN, has apparently also read for a part. She is thought to be in line for playing the daughter of Han and Leia. With no official announcements as of yet everyone linked is currently just a rumour, though we can probably expect to hear something more solid by October.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, with the cast TBC, the film will arrive in 2015.
