It had been HBO’s flagship series until being stifled by the epic Game of Thrones, and it’s winter is coming. After a seven season run and a plethora of sexy vampires HBO’s True Blood has reached it’s end. The upcoming season, out next summer will be the final of the series.
It’s certainly had a successful shelf life and the undead cash cow reached a total of 4.5 million viewers for its sixth season premiere and averaged an audience of 10.6 million viewers each episode.
HBO’s president of programming stated:
True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO.Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.
The mainstay of the cast will all be returning to put the final nail the show’s last coffin, including original stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard.
