At the end of August we were able to bring you the first still of Steve Carell all dressed up and ready to go as John du Pont, an intriguing photo released from upcoming drama ‘biopic’ FOXCATCHER. Today we can follow it up with two more stills, showing off Carell, Channing Tatum and a hairy Mark Ruffalo.
The film, directed by Bennett Miller (MONEYBALL), focuses on the creepy story of paranoid schizophrenic multimillionaire du Pont, who befriends Olympic wrestling champion brothers Mark (Tatum) and David (Ruffalo) Schultz. Their friendship hit the papers when news was released that du Pont had killed David, making headlines all over America. Anthony Michael Hall (THE BREAKFAST CLUB), Sienna Miller (FACTORY GIRL) and Vanessa Redgrave (HOWARD’S END) co-star, completing a very talented cast list.
I remember hearing details about the story when rumours first surfaced that a film was to be made, so it’ll be interesting to see where Miller goes with it. It’s also strange to see Carell in a far more serious role, but it makes for a great change.
FOXCATCHER is set to hit US cinemas on 20th December 2013, with it arriving in the UK on 17th January 2014.
