Bryan Singer To Keep A Giant ‘Creature At Bay’ For Syfy

Bryan SingerPACIFIC RIM just wasn’t enough big monster madness for me. But then again, there will never be enough giant monsters where I’m concerned. As my anticipation for the biggest of them all, the Hollywood reboot of GODZILLA, reaches fever pitch, it now looks as though we’ll be spoiled by a whole TV series.

Bryan Singer, most known for his work on THE USUAL SUSPECTS and X-MEN, is set to direct a 90 minute pilot for the Syfy channel called Creature At Bay, which sees America living in a world after a massive monster attack. I love the idea of a series focusing on the aftermath, as the show will feature on a small town off the Northern Californian coast. The best thing about this is that the show has unlimited potential. No doubt, if the show gains popularity, then we’ll be seeing more monsters in future seasons, and perhaps even a post-apocalyptic world at some point.

I adore the old Japanese tokusatsu shows such as Ultraman and Kamen Rider, but a show that looks at monster attacks in a realistic way and has a continuous plot would be amazing.
