The promotional campaign for Marvel’s THOR: THE DARK WORLD is now in full swing following the release of featurettes, extended trailers and television spots. Yesterday saw us debut a ‘Beyond The Realms’ featurette as well as a couple of character posters and today we have another two TV spots (actually the 8th and 9th!) for the return of Chris Hemsworth’s Asgardian hammer-swinging superhero. With still more than three weeks to go before hitting cinemas, we hope those spots don’t get to the ridiculous MAN OF STEEL numbers (more than 20!) and spoil the epic adventure by showing too much.
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD co-stars Natalie Portman, Christopher Eccleston, Tom Hiddleston, Stellen Skarsgaard, Jamie Alexander, Christopher Eccleston, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Tadanobu Asano, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. It’s released in UK cinemas 30th October and the US 8th November.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
