Originally announced in 2011, this weekend saw Disney divulge some stunning concept art for their AVATAR attraction. Based on the globally successful James Cameron movie AVATAR, Disney’s new project will try to bring the magic of Pandora to life. The venture is the result of a partnership between James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and Walt Disney Imagineering.
This weekend at D23 Joe Rohde shared highlights of the resorts next addition which will be built into the popular Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park forming the largest expansion in its history. Once opened in 2017 visitors will be treated to a whole host of magical experiences including a Banshee flying simulator, a cruise through Pandora’s forest, as well as new night time entertainment. The designs for the park also reveal that both the floating islands and Tree of Life will feature, as will the bioluminescent flora.
