Every now and then, we are lucky enough to find a short film that deserves more exposure and today’s ‘must-watch‘ is Mark Buchanan’s MISSION.
His other film THE SEARCH premiered at the BFI London Film Festival and you can watch it here now as it’s released in full today! It stars Game of Thrones and PROMETHEUS star Emun Elliott, plus The Smoking Room’s Siobhan Redmond, who both waived their fees to appear. MISSION follows Elliott’s lead male character and what happens to him after he’s rejected to join the first manned official mission to the moon.
This short holds impressive intensity and shows honest in the reality caused by his obsession, and the affect it has on those around them. Any film can find it difficult to engage an audience if it’s not done with full commitment but to grab your attention within twenty minutes and tell an encapsulating story makes it extra special.

The Director, Mark Buchanan, has produced short films previously which appeared officially as part of the BFI London Film Festivals. MISSION is also written by Scottish BAFTA-winning screenwriter Gregor Barclay.
