Yes, that really is the intense actor Ben Foster sporting the signature yellow jersey of legendary sporting cyclist Lance Armstrong, who earlier this year was outed as a disgraced drug cheat. After years of rumours and denials, Armstrong eventually confessed to years of doping and was eventually stripped of his seven Tour du France winners titles. Stephen Frears is directing the first of two biopics in the workd and is written by John Hodge. It will centre on Armstrong’s years at the top, battle from testicular cancer and subsequent fall from grace.
Joining Foster is Chris O’Dowd as Irish sports journalist David Walsh, whose book the film is based, as well as Breaking Bad’s Jesse Plemons and French actor/filmmaker Guillaume Canet. Still no confirmation of an official title.
